Why go Greek?
Beyond just Theta Xi, Clarion's greek system is a great community where members can develop friendships and life-changing experiences. Theta Xi works broadly with inter-greek organizations such as the Inter Fraternity Council to help contribute a positive image of the greek system.
Why Theta Xi?
Our brothers are more than just "frat guys." We have brothers from all walks of life, interested in many different things; we feel that Theta Xi is the ideal place to cherish individuality while promoting unity. Theta Xi is continually striving to assure that the world sees fraternities as more than just the typical “Animal House.” While social events are an intrinsic part of our calendar, Theta Xi focuses on much more. For us, a fraternity is a lot more than just a social club; it’s a place to clasp friendships, help the community, and ensuingly grow as a man.
How time-consuming is fraternity membership
Like most other extracurricular activities, how much you get out of your membership in Greek life is directly related to how much you put in. On average, expect to commit about three hours per week to mandatory meetings and events. Additional activities such as holding an officer position, attending social and/or brotherhood events, playing on intramural sports teams, or accommodating with various projects will take additional time. With good time management skills, which you will continue to progress throughout your Greek experience, fraternity activities will surely fit into your existing schedule and allow ample amounts of time for your other academic and extracurricular obligations.
How will my grades be affected?
Many college students (and parents) worry about grades being contradictorily affected by membership in a fraternity. However, the average GPA of fraternity men at Clarion is well above the all-men’s average. Theta Xi is proud to say that we steadily hold one of the highest average GPAs for fraternities at Clarion.
We understand that you came to Clarion first and foremost as a student of the university. For this reason, at no point will you be anticipated to forgo studying or other preexisting academic obligations in favor of fraternal commitments.

What will my membership dues be spent on?
Our operating budget is carefully constructed by our Treasurer and Executive Board each year to distribute the largest amount of funds possible toward alcohol-free events. Philanthropies, leadership and career workshops, brotherhood bonding events, and more provide our Fraternity with an exceptionally extensive range of college involvement we would not otherwise have available to us. It would honestly be a disgrace to not take advantage of the many opportunities afforded to us in and around Clarion. Some would disagree that our semester membership dues are rather costly; however, they are actually considerably reasonable when compared to those of other fraternities on campus. Overall, our brothers recognize that the benefits of being in Theta Xi far outweigh the costs.
